What is football tweet ?

Football tweet is simply a post on Twitter, a very popular social network and microblogging service. Since Twitter only allows Football messages with a maximum of 280 characters, it is probably referred to as a tweet, as it resembles the short and sweet chirping of a bird.

Like Facebook status updates, you can share media-rich links, Football pictures, and Football videos in a tweet, using a maximum of 280 characters. Twitter automatically counts all shared links as 23 characters, no matter how long it takes - so you have more room to write a message with longer links.

Post-Second World War England football leagues

The league was suspended again in 1939 with the outbreak of World War II, this time for seven seasons. The third league was expanded in 1950 to 24 clubs each, which increased the total number of league clubs to 92. In 1958, the decision was made to end the regionalization of the third division and to relocate the clubs into a new nationwide third and fourth division. To achieve this, the clubs in the upper half of the third division north and south joined together to form the new third division, and the clubs in the lower half formed the fourth division. An earlier suggestion that the third Division South should become the third division and the third Division North the fourth division due to better attendance, and that they tend to perform better when promoted, was rejected. Four clubs were promoted and dropped down between these two lower divisions, while two clubs swapped places in the upper divisions until 1974, when the number rose to three.

The clubs that won their first championship titles in the quarter century after the Second World War were Portsmouth (1948-49 and 1949-50), Tottenham Hotspur (1950-51 and 1960-61), founding members of the Wolverhampton Wanderers League (1953) -54, 1957-58 and 1958-59), Chelsea (1954-55), Ipswich Town (1961-62) and Leeds United (1968-69).

Tottenham Hotspur was the first club in the 20th century to win League and FA Cup 'Double' in 1960/61, a season in which Wolverhampton Wanderers got the job done (Wolves won the FA Cup in 1959/60 and was runner-up) by Burnley in the league by one point).

After the Second World War were used in league football in 1951 white balls and 1956 the first game with floodlights (between Portsmouth and Newcastle United), which opened the possibility of evening games during the week.

By far the biggest change for league clubs at this time was a new cup competition open to all members of the league, the Football League Cup, which was held for the first time in 1960/61 to provide clubs with a new source of revenue. Aston Villa won the first League Cup and despite initial lack of enthusiasm of some other major clubs, the competition established itself in the football calendar, although it was only in the early 1970s that all 92 clubs were represented in the football league participated regularly in the competition season after season.

Substitutes (1 per team per game) were first admitted for injured players in 1965 and for some reason next year.
